Take Action Tuesday
Tuesday, March 17, 2026
Why should I go to a rally?
Power belongs to the people.
America has no kings. This country does not belong to rulers or billionaires. It belongs to us and we will protect it.
We reject authoritarian rule.
Abducting immigrants, deploying troops in our streets, silencing voters, defying courts. This is a dictatorship in action, and together we reject it.
We’re here to stay.
We’ll keep growing, keep building, keep rejecting the attacks on our communities. We’re energized and we’re only getting stronger.
The movement is growing.
Every time the current President escalates his repression, the No Kings movement grows stronger, proof that the people will not back down.
The No Kings rallies have been two of the top five largest protests in US history. We anticipate that this could be the largest ever. Already over 2,800 rallies are registered across the country and the world.

Immigrant Neighbors Update
For the last six months, West MI Indivisible has provided varying levels of support for 10 immigrant families who had someone taken by ICE. These 10 families have a total of 50 people. We have raised money for rent, utilities, food, clothing, and household necessities, donated Christmas gifts, provided emotional support, answered questions, and made connections with each family. Here are a couple of messages we received from our families:
“Thank you very much. I am happy to see you again. You’re going to
make me cry. No one else had told me this so I really appreciate you,
despite not knowing me well, having confidence in me.” M.
“Nobody has ever been this kind to us. Thank you.” C.
Some of the families no longer need our help and have gotten back on their feet. And there are others who still need our support.
If you are able to make a donation, please see the Venmo information below. Ann is our designated person who has experience in this area, and along with Chris, ensures that all funds are used appropriately to support our families.
Local Elections Matter
School Board Report - Thank you to our 10 West MI Indivisible members who showed up on very short notice to the Jenison School Board meeting. There is community discussion about what curriculum should be taught in the classrooms in Jenison. Our presence at the meeting sent a message that the members of the community want our students to receive factual information and not neutral information. We learned the superintendent and board members were very aware of our presence. Showing up matters, so thank you to the West MI Indivisible Jenison 10! The next school board meeting is April 20.
There will be three seats up for election in Jenison. This election will be a critical one for Jenison schools. Currently the board is somewhat evenly divided between perspectives. Let’s make our West MI voices be heard and represented! Consider running for the school board. Contact Jennie or westmiindivisible@gmail.com for further details.
Here are the area school board meeting dates: Grandville Schools, Byron Center Schools, Jenison Schools, Hudsonville Schools A good question to ask is, “What’s their plan if ICE comes to the schools?” and other sensitive locations in our communities. Please send any notes of interest to westmiindivisible@gmail.com
County Reporters - Are you able to report county political information to our group? Can you attend meetings, read newsletters Kent County or Ottawa County and report back to our group? Contact Jennie or westmiindivisible@gmail.com
