Pushing back doesn’t always work.
Not pushing back never works.
But sometimes when you push back, you win.
- Rachel Maddow, 4-25-25

NEWS - from our teams:
Federal:
Next Indivisible National Rally - Saturday June 14th is a possible date for the next protest rally to be organized by National Indivisible. This is not a confirmed date. But it’s being considered because it’s Flag Day and also happens to be Donald Trump’s birthday when he is tentatively planning a military parade in Washington D.C.
National Indivisible needs feedback from us on how to make this event even more successful than the last. Let us know what you think, and we’ll pass the comments on to the national team.
Questions for everyone:
How do we bring independents and non-voting folks to join our movement? (89 million Americans did not vote in November 2024)
What supplies do you need to help promote the next national rally to our local community, family, friends, neighbors, anyone and everyone? Would yard signs help? Flyers with social media, QR codes? Any other ideas?
Email westmiindivisible@gmail.com to share your ideas and we’ll pass your comments on to the national team.
State:
Spread the word - Do not sign this petition! - Our Board of Canvassers in Michigan has approved a petition drive by the Committee to Protect Voters’ Rights (also known as “Prove It Michigan”) to gather signatures for a proof of citizenship amendment on the ballot in November 2026. If successful, this would add additional proof of citizenship requirements for voters to the Michigan Constitution and require documentation for name changes including marriage. This committee has 180 days to gather 450,000 signatures, so it’s urgent that we get the word out to everyone we know (friends, family, coworkers, social media).
Local:
Microresistance - Continue Boycotting Target for eliminating DEI measures. Eat at a local restaurant that supports the people that our government is currently trying to deport and make disappear (ex., Los Ranchos, Tacos el Cunado, Lalo’s Mexican Grill and Bar).
Ongoing Actions:
Bridge Takeover Protest (IGGR-sponsored event). Friday May 2, 4:30-6:00 pm, Hall St. Bridge over US 131.
